Profile of Rakesh Raman for the Role of Independent Director and Advisor

Government and private organizations in all parts of the world can hire my services as an Independent Director, Advisor, Mentor, Executive Director, or a similar senior management position. I am also available to speak at enterprise events and academic institutions on diverse topics of technology, business development, governance, and modern education for students.

With the following profile, I offer my candidature to work with leading organizations in the areas of information research, artificial intelligence (AI), editorial content management, public policy development, and lean governance. My editorial and humanitarian work aligns with the achievement of UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

As a technology management expert, these days, I am working on emerging artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. In addition to providing AI orientation to businesses through the Pathway technology platform that I run under my RMN Company, I am using the latest Agentic AI technology to develop AI Agents for different applications. 

With hybrid skills, I can design and implement physical as well as digital campaigns to encourage citizen participation in democratic systems and handle student education and small business development programs to achieve the education, employment, poverty reduction, and economic development objectives of governments.

I am a government’s national award-winning journalist and founder of the humanitarian organization RMN Foundation in New Delhi. Besides working at senior editorial positions with leading media companies, I was writing an exclusive edit-page technology business column regularly for The Financial Express, which is a daily business newspaper of The Indian Express Group. 

The RMN Foundation that I manage is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization (NGO) formed in 2015 as an educational and public charitable Trust for the benefit of humanity at large. It is registered with the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi at New Delhi, India. RMN Foundation is also registered with the Darpan platform of NITI Aayog, Government of India.

I have been associated with the Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem) Project as a Country Expert for India since 2021 to provide expert research inputs on multiple topics pertaining to democracy and governance. The topics include Regimes, Political Parties, Media, Judiciary, Executive, Elections, and Digital Society. The V-Dem Project is managed by V-Dem Institute under the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. 

Earlier, I had been associated with the United Nations (UN) through the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) as a digital media expert to help businesses use technology for brand marketing and business development. I was also associated with the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) – set up by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India – to help small- and medium-sized export companies use technology for their business development in global markets. 

Nowadays, for the past 15 years, under my Raman Media Network (RMN) Company, I have been running global news services on multiple news sites that cover global business, politics, governance, technology, entertainment, and education. I also produce digital magazines and research reports on different topics pertaining to law and justice, human rights, corruption, technology, social media, politics, and overall economic and business environment.

As a leading technology media organization, RMN Company has been associated as a Media Partner for top global tech events. These include TEAMZ Summit 2025 (April 16-17, 2025) for Web3 and AI in Tokyo, Japan, and India Blockchain Summit 2024, which is a major tech event that focuses on blockchain technologies and their importance for economic growth in India.

In February 2025, my candidature was approved by the Institute of Directors (IOD) – which is the apex professional association of corporate directors – to be hired as a qualified director by leading companies in India and abroad. 

I have also been associated with the G20 Mentorship Platform as a Mentor (Adviser) since January 2025. It is a collaborative project of Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP), G20 EMPOWER India, and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), which is a leading industry association and advocacy group. The objective of this platform is to promote women’s entrepreneurship and empower women to lead diverse enterprises worldwide across the G20 nations. The WEP in India is managed by NITI Aayog, which is the apex public policy think tank of the Government of India.

I have been publishing The Integrity Bulletin monthly news magazine since 2018 to cover local and international corruption issues to engage with different stakeholders who are trying to combat corruption in the world. I have also been publishing The Unrest fortnightly magazine since 2020 to cover economic and political upheavals in the world. 

I am running an editorial section / microsite “Power Play: Lok Sabha Elections in India” to cover the election news, events, and political campaigns. I worked as an editor for Wikipedia, which is a free online global encyclopedia. I also run a comprehensive editorial section on elections and politics in the U.S. 

I have been running for the past 7 years a community-driven anti-corruption social service “Clean House” to help the residents of Delhi raise their voice against the growing corruption and injustice in housing societies where millions of people suffer because of rampant corruption and lawlessness. I also formed an environment protection group called Green Group in New Delhi, which is the most polluted national capital in the world. I have launched a nationwide campaign to introduce social democracy in India in order to build an egalitarian society in which all citizens could enjoy equal rights, opportunities, freedoms, and access to justice. I was conferred the National-level government award for my contribution in the field of technology journalism, which has been a unique distinction in the country. The award was presented to me at the state Republic Day function.

Among other international technology content projects, I have introduced – “Raman’s Tech Tale Series – Knowledge Stories for Children,” a book series aimed to spread technology awareness among children through short stories. This work has also found a mention in Bookbird, a journal of international children’s literature, produced by IBBY, the International Board on Books for Young People. 

I had set up and managed a free school for deserving children for 5 years during 2015-2019 to impart modern education to students at the J.J. Colony of Dwarka, Sector 3, New Delhi. I have compiled and released a comprehensive research report “Job with Education: School Education Report 2025 to Make Students Employable.” I have used Google AI to get this research report reviewed. I was writing for an online journal “Online Journalism Review” that focused on the future of digital journalism. The journal is published by the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California. 

I have handled major content development, editorial, and custom publishing projects for leading global technology companies including IBM, HP, Intel, 3D Networks, SAP, and a few leading Indian companies. I have also hosted major technology events for entrepreneurs, businesses, and chief information officers (CIOs) of leading companies.

Computer Science: After doing my M.Sc. and Computer Science orientation from Panjab University, Chandigarh, I worked as a software developer for about seven years with a couple of leading technology companies at Mohali, Chandigarh (India). I have worked on various hardware and software systems and currently working on contemporary technology platforms such as WordPress open-source content management system, Adobe Creative Cloud Express for multimedia content development, Generative AI (artificial intelligence) tools for different applications, Agentic AI to develop AI Agents, Canva graphic design platform, Microsoft Clipchamp video editor, YouTube channel management system, and so on.
